FOR EVERMORE!

So, I am kind of new to this "blog" thing (as you can tell by the "Test" post) but I feel led to it so I can share my beliefs that I have.

I wanted to start out with something simple, one of my favorite verses of the bible (and pretty much the entire theme of the blog).

Revelation 1:18 - I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

WHAT A WONDERFUL, INSPIRING, SPIRIT-LIFTING VERSE! For those who are saved, this should be encouragement NO MATTER WHAT you are going through.

Allow me to explain (somewhat) :)

I am he that liveth...
This verse, first off, was spoken by Jesus to John while he was in the isle that was called Pat'mos(Rev 1:9). It is a statement of who Christ is. The first part of this verse is a reference to the time that Jesus descended from heaven and became the sacrifice for ALL of our sins. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell us a great deal of his life and time here on earth.

and was dead...
Christ gave up his life OF HIS OWN WILL after 9 hours on the cross. Note that I said that it was of his own will, he was not killed by the cross.
John 10:17-18 - Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Simple as that. Jesus simply said that he has the power over his life.

and, behold, I am alive for evermore...
Three days after he was buried, he rose again.
Matthew 28:5-6 - And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Je'sus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Mark 16:14 - Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
Luke 24:30-31 - And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
John 20:20 - And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
After he had shown himself to the disciples and others, he was taken up in a cloud (Acts 1:9) and sat at the right side of the Father (Mark 16:19)

Amen...
I don't know of anything else to put here other than that after you get a hold of what this verse entails, you probably won't be able to keep yourself from saying AMEN! After all, he just said that he IS ALIVE FOR EVERMORE!

and have the keys of hell and of death.
Simply stated, it means that Christ is in control. When he died, and rose again on the third day, he defeated hell and death.

Truly believing in what Christ did on Calvary, by him dying for our sins and becoming the final sacrifice for sin that will ever be needed, and by confessing him to be Lord is the key to salvation.
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Je'sus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

All honor and glory to the Lord
Amen
